February's Romance Blog

In honor of the official month of Love and Romance, we are launching our first blog just weeks after opening our virtual doors.

A heartfelt thank you to our fans, readers, authors and future authors for their enthusiasm, support and encouragement. As we grow, we wanted to take a moment to let everyone know a little more about us and to share our philosophy.

To begin, “Where Story Matters” is not just a catchy tag line. Its meaning is at the heart of Boroughs Publishing Group.

Our stories may be based on other worlds or set five hundred years ago; the characters might be shape-shifters or ghosts who are blushingly sweet or sexy as sin, but no matter the conceptual elements used to weave the tale, at the core of every book is a love story with a hero and heroine finding their way into each other’s arms to live out their happily ever after.

Our commitment to providing our readership with the most emotionally satisfying books is the bedrock of our company.

For example, our logo was contemplated for months, its meaning pondered over until we were certain it represented our intent. Matt, our wonderful designer, developed the logo with this understanding: “Using the icons of a book and a flame, the story of Boroughs Publishing Group comes to life. The logo’s construction with a single line pays homage to the narrative thread that takes many directions but begins and ends in a cohesive story.”

Over the coming months, we’ll be adding new and exciting books, some from authors you know and love while others will be from fresh voices in Romance Fiction.

As a measure of our gratitude for your warm embrace, we have a couple of giveaways this month and an author contest.

To the 150th person that Likes us on Facebook and the 150th person that follows us on Twitter - we’ll give free copies of each of our debut novels, Tumbleweed Heights and Nobody’s Angel.

For the aspiring author: the first 25 never before published individuals to send us a query, two-page synopsis and the first three chapters of their current work-in-progress before the end of February, our editors will critique the submission within four weeks plus we’ll let know you if we’re interested in seeing the full manuscript. Please put FEBRUARY CONTEST in the subject line of your e-mail to submissions@BoroughsPublishingGroup.com.

Good luck everybody!

Your logo is inspiring me and other writers to "Burn" the midnight oil, fire up our computers and write our books with renewed passion. I understood the logo as soon as I saw it, and I can't wait to have it's imprint on one or ten of my own books!

Congrats on the opening of Boroughs Publishing and for snagging Chris Keeslar. So wish I had heard/seen about this sooner as the February contest looked awesome. Looking forward to seeing what's next.

Sorry I missed RT - several friends went and I hope they picked up one of the Boroughs bags for me. Now, back to my keyboard and to my ms.
